Finding a Little Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

It’s been grey and rainy the past few days and I’ve been feeling a little down. As I picked my daughter up from school the first words out of her mouth were “can we play at the playground?” My first thought was to say no and just get home. But then I thought, why not. It’s barely raining and it is actually quite warm out. I said ok, that she could play for a few minutes. As I watched my kids on the swings laughing and seeing who could go the highest, I decided it might be fun to join them. Fast forward an hour later and have been running all over the playground playing tag, dancing around and laughing a lot. The kids were both muddy and wet and as I looked down, I realized so was I. But I couldn’t have been happier. Being a stay-at-home mom, I make less money than I ever have in my life. But some days, like today, I feel like it pays the most.
